ABOUT OUR PROGRAM:
Aurora (Womans Choir) - This is a year long, non-auditioned choir for voices in the treble range (soprano I, soprano II and alto) • All styles of music will be studied. • Emphasis on sight-reading, music theory, music history, correct vocal technique and stage presence. • Will perform in a minimum of two required concerts per semester. • Other required performances include choral festivals and community performances.
Just Men (Mens Choir) - • A non-auditioned choir for voices in the treble range • All styles of music will be studied. • Emphasis on sight-reading, music theory, music history, correct vocal technique and stage presence. • Will perform in a minimum of two required concerts per semester. • Other required performances include choral festivals and community performances.
Minor Details - An auditioned mixed choir focusing on learning Jazz• Auditions are held in the spring • No singing experience is necessary to try out. This choir meets two days a week before school.
Symphonic Choir - An auditioned mixed choir that meets 3 days per week before school • Students will be exposed to a variety of styles of music • Students will compete in numerous contests throughout the year and tour annually. • Students must also be enrolled in choir or band class during the day in order to participate in this choir.
Northern Lights - • An auditioned treble choir • Auditions for this are held in the spring • All styles of music are performed • Students regularly compete in jazz and classical contests and go on tour annually.
Vocal Point - An auditioned mixed choir plus a rhythm section (bass, drums, piano) • Auditions are held in the spring • Students will be exposed to all styles of jazz • Students regularly compete in jazz festivals throughout the year and go on tour annually
